EFR
Frequently Asked Questions
General
What's the difference between online and offline EFR?
Online EFR
Online EFRs are automatically created in our efsta cloud and receive an EFR number as soon as an online connection is available. In Austria, the cash registers are also registered with the tax authorities by means of an automatically generated start document.
Monitoring
Monitoring provides an immediate overview of the cash register status and correct fiscalization. Thanks to the intuitive user interface, users can easily check the current status of the cash register.
Archiving
The archiving function stores data in accordance with the legal retention period. In addition, start-month annual receipts are automatically transmitted to the tax authorities in Austria.
In the event of a cash register failure, the stored data is retained until the time of the defect.
Customer retrieval
Customers can retrieve their data at any time, ensuring flexibility and transparency. This enables easy tracking of transactions and facilitates adherence to compliance regulations.
The EFR can also be used offline if you do not have a stable internet connection.
Your data is stored locally and automatically transferred to the efsta cloud as soon as the connection is restored, so you can continue working without having to worry about interruptions.
Offline EFR
In offline operation, it is recommended to perform weekly or ideally daily backups to minimize data loss. In the event of a cash register failure, data is not saved automatically.
It is the responsibility of the user to independently report the cash register failure to the financial authority.
Example scenario
If, for example, an export is carried out on Monday and the cash register fails on Wednesday, the data will only be available up to the time of the export (Monday).
How can I perform a switch between hardware, cash register or server?
Hardware change/cash register change/server move
If you are changing cash registers, changing hardware or moving servers within a company, you can proceed as follows:
Old cash register/hardware:
- Uninstall EFR
- Save EFR folder externally
- Delete the EFR folder locally under C:\ProgramData
New cash register/hardware:
- Reinsert EFR folder under C:\ProgramData
- Install EFR
- Check configuration
This method retains all settings and the EFR register number Please follow the exact steps, otherwise errors will occur.
This method does not work for Multicompany or for single clients of a MultiPos. If you have any further questions or problems, please write to ticket@efsta.eu
How can I export data from the EFR?
- Open the browser on the cash register where the EFR is installed
- Enter the following in the address line:
localhost:5618
- If you have a MultiPOS or MultiCompany, please select the respective cash register where the export is required at the top left under “def”
- Then navigate to the Control tab
- At the bottom you can select the period and then download the respective export
If you enter localhost:5618 and are unable to access a page (e.g. 404 error or similar), please report this to the cash register manufacturer as the default address has probably been changed to a different one.
Please try the whole process with Google Chrome and Firefox only. Other browsers tend not to load correctly.
